Let the Light In

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep […] Genesis 1:1-2

[…] and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Genesis 1:2

God has Always Been & will Always Be Separated from Darkness

5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. Genesis 1:3-5

The First Step in moving from a life of chaos, disorder, confusion, emptiness, worthlessness, etc is to: Let the Light In

How Do We Let the Light In?

1. Pull Up The Shades

12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Have I received Christ? If not, am I ready to receive His grace today?

What other areas of my life are causing me stress or unhappiness?

2. Clean the Windows

2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

What have I been holding on to that I need to let go of? How have I been holding myself back?

3. Turn On The Lights

18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

What am I thankful for in my life right now?

4. Open The Door

23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. James 1:23-25
