6/21/20 – Growing Together – Week 2
Whatever It Takes
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
To know Him.
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ ~Matthew 7:21-23
~Exodus 3
4 excuses that prevent us from growing:
1. Who am I?
But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” ~Exodus 3:11
I’ll be with you.
God always has an execution plan when He asks you to go.
Exchanging our viewpoint for God’s perspective is essential to winning our battles.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.  ~Philippians 3:12-16
That Perspective changes both our view and our attitudes.
Measure yourself by how God sees you.
2. What if they.
Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’?”  Moses had some fear, some resistance.
“We can’t live in fear of what everybody thinks about us.”
Proverbs 29:25 says “the fear of man will prove to be a snare, but those who trust the Lord will be kept safe”.
3. Exodus 4:10 shows that Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”
God gives you an opportunity to pioneer something.
“I could let the fear that I have never done this, stop me from from what God has called me to do for my destiny”
4. Reluctance.
Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” ~Exodus 3:13
I want to convince you that your life will never make sense until you are doing something in your life that really makes a difference for God.
