Truth: God’s Word

Our Feelings must be constantly Held Up to God’s Truth

9 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? ~Jeremiah 17:9

Know God’s Truth

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. ~Romans 8:28

Recognize our Feelings

We don’t have to Feel Good to Know God is Good

33 He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. 34 “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” 35 Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. 36 “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” ~Mark 14:33-36

They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD. ~Psalm 112:7
