Palm Sunday 2024
No More
Acts 3:1-8

1. No more ordinary Sundays

  • When we experience Jesus on a supernatural basis, He transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary

Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. Acts 3:1

  • Many times, the reason we show up at church and receive no revelation is because we have no expectation
  • When we experience the presence of Jesus, we cannot stay the same

2. No more “less than” people

As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. Acts 3:2

  • We are all born sinful

3. No more low expectations

  • What is it that God wants to do inside of you that has not yet happened?

When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. Acts 3:3

  • Do not allow your dysfunction to become your identity

Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. 6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Acts 3:4-6

  • Jesus will deliver you out of your dysfunction

4. No more pretending we can do it on our own

  • We need the help of Jesus and each other to make it through life

Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. Acts 3:7

He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” Matthew 26:38

  • Religion pushes you down. Jesus helps you up

5. No more staying silent

He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. Acts 3:8

  • Church should be a place of celebration, not condemnation
