The Blueprint of Truth
Matthew 16:18
1. The Foundation
“On this rock I will build My church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” – Matthew 16:18
- Jesus gave us the blueprints for us to live sacrificially and lay down our lives for the glory of God.
- God’s Truth is not a suggestion but rather it’s why He created it to protect those He loved.
2. Relentless Pursuit of Jesus
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,….But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, ….For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 6:19-21
- Be bold enough to seek an adventure that can move you to a whole new identity.
“One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” -Proverbs 11:24-25
3. Sin and Its Wages
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23
- It is out of love that God points out our sin.
- The reality of God’s destiny for us cannot change simply because we don’t accept it.
“For our struggle is not against human opponents but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers in the darkness around us, and evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realm.”– Ephesians 6:12
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” – 2 Timothy 1:7
4. The Reward
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 6:1
- The Gospel demands that we set our sights on a Heavenly reward and not earthly praise.
