A Helper Uniquely Designed by God to be a Blessing
Genesis 2:21-22; 3:1-21

According to the Scriptures, a Woman is:

1. A Helper

a. Encouragement

b. Trust

Itā€™s better to live alone in the corner of an atticĀ than with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home. Proverbs 21:9

Itā€™s better to live alone in the desertĀ than with a quarrelsome, complaining wife. Proverbs 21:19

A quarrelsome wife is like the dripping of a leaky roof in a rainstorm; 16Ā restraining her is like restraining the wind or grasping oil with the hand. Proverbs 27:15-16

2. Uniquely Designed by God

So theĀ LordĀ God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, theĀ LordĀ God took out one of the manā€™s ribsĀ and closed up the opening.Ā 22Ā Then theĀ LordĀ God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man. Genesis 2:21-22

3. A Blessing

The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals theĀ LordĀ God had made. One day he asked the woman, ā€œDid God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?ā€ 2Ā ā€œOf course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,ā€ the woman replied.Ā 3Ā ā€œItā€™s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ā€˜You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.ā€™ā€ 4Ā ā€œYou wonā€™t die!ā€ the serpent replied to the woman.Ā 5Ā ā€œGod knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.ā€ 6Ā The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.Ā 7Ā At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves. Genesis 3:1-7

If Satan can get us to feel shame, he will shackle us to our past

ā€œWho told you that you were naked?ā€ theĀ LordĀ God asked. ā€œHave you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?ā€ 12Ā The man replied, ā€œIt was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.ā€ 13Ā Then theĀ LordĀ God asked the woman, ā€œWhat have you done?ā€ ā€œThe serpent deceived me,ā€ she replied. ā€œThatā€™s why I ate it.ā€ Genesis 3:11-13

Then the manā€”Adamā€”named his wife Eve, because she would be the mother of all who live.Ā 21Ā And theĀ LordĀ God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife. Genesis 3:20-21
