No More
Acts 3:1-8
1. No more ordinary Sundays
As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. Acts 3:2
He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” Matthew 26:38
He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. Acts 3:8
1. No more ordinary Sundays
- When we experience Jesus on a supernatural basis, He transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary
- Many times, the reason we show up at church and receive no revelation is because we have no expectation
- When we experience the presence of Jesus, we cannot stay the same
As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. Acts 3:2
- We are all born sinful
- What is it that God wants to do inside of you that has not yet happened?
- Do not allow your dysfunction to become your identity
- Jesus will deliver you out of your dysfunction
- We need the help of Jesus and each other to make it through life
He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” Matthew 26:38
- Religion pushes you down. Jesus helps you up
He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. Acts 3:8
- Church should be a place of celebration, not condemnation
